[音樂劇] The Grinning Man︱One small smile can change your world. PART TWO

放一張人見人愛的MOJO www

演出狼的搭檔有兩組，畢竟整場這樣彎著腰負荷真的很大，這是B組新上任時在練習的照片。

Part One主要是背景介紹和角色陸續登場，接著國王過世以及Grinpayne的演出越來越受歡迎則將故事帶向轉折點。

聚光燈唰地轉到前排觀眾席，主教爬上觀眾席D排正中間前方的小舞台(後面簡稱D排小舞台)，主持國王的追悼儀式。The Grinning Man和其它音樂劇不同的一點就是純戲劇的部分也不少，國王喪禮這整段基本上沒唱什麼歌，只有抬棺材的群眾們唱著聖歌般的合聲，仔細聽的話歌詞也是挺靠北的，笑料不少，說國王的死十分離奇之類的。

主教請大家上前獻花的時候，Osric煞風景的從觀眾席左側小門跳出來：

Will our land at last be free from pain and misery?

讓主教跳腳大吼：

Get him out! This is no time for liberalism!!!

至於國王的死有多離奇，待蓋棺材的布一掀開… 國王是被豬腳噎死的，豬腳還整根從嘴裡插出來一大截超不正經XDD

主教很稱職的讚頌著國王的豐功偉業，要大家記得King Clarence的治國哲理：

To them that have much more shall be given; to them that have not the little they have shall be taken away.

接著請國王的三個孩子上前致哀，首先喊到Princess Angelica，剛點完名Barkilphedro就回說”No”他很抱歉但Princess Angelica 20年來沒從她的房間出來過，這些年間也沒講過半句話，主教只得不耐煩的命人去召喚她。再來有請王子Lord David Dirry-Moir，沒幾秒趴在棺材前的Barkilphedro又說了”No”，說Lord David在Trafalgar Fair耽誤了還不見人影，主教翻了個白眼說哪天不挑偏偏挑今天。最後有請Duchess Josiana，靜默了一陣毫無動靜，主教有點不安的再喊了一次，Barkilphedro又喊了”No”讓主教崩潰腿軟。他說Josiana當然想出席典禮，但恐怕今早的雜交派對(Orgy LOL)讓她不克前來，不能登大雅之堂的內容還沒講完主教就打斷他了XDD

主教怒斥小丑辦事不力，必須找到國王的孩子們讓他們前來悼念才行，問小丑能不能…(would you be so kind)

還沒說完Barkilphedro就走上台說沒問題他有準備簡單的致辭，整個誤解了主教的意思，上台讀了很多大不敬的內容。Barkilphedro的停頓跟抑揚頓挫全看台下觀眾的笑聲來決定，停頓時嚴肅的表情和主教無力的哀號往往使大家笑得更用力。

Barkilphedro:

I did attempt the Heimlich maneuver, but with my feeble grip and your immense girdle…

失敗的哈姆立克法超煩，還不忘跟死去的國王討20年前他說好的獎賞，在主教爆炸前披頭散髮的Princess Angelica出現了，一句話都不必說就嚇退了群眾，她走上前吻了一下插在國王嘴裡的豬腳。

Angelica:

SWINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

她吼出20年來第一個聲音，雖然很不想，但礙於沒有其他人選，主教只好將王位傳給她。拿起掛在脖子上的聖物Fleur de Jambon(法文：火腿花，因為原著是雨果時不時就要亂搞一下法文？)，然後授予Angelica冊封與剝奪爵位的權力及信物 — The Garter of Sussex Westermere。

Angelica:

The corruption of my father’s rule is at an end.

As queen, I now declare a new age for this kingdom.

I will make this country great again!

< 飾演Angelica的Julie聲線很有喜感很卡通，一度以為是故意的，殊不知很神奇的本人的聲音就是這樣，人也很幽默。

Angelica:

You, clown. I hate you. Never look at me. Never come near me. Never talk to me unless it is a matter of life and death.

< 這個梗後面還會用到，神煩

典禮結束後，群眾抬著棺材下台，邊唱：

Did you think the change of king will change the mess you’re living in?

Learn the rules you stupid fools.

You stupid steaming fools.

下個場景是Grinpayne和Dea坐在拖車內對話，談夢想也講到來倫敦後真相好像快撥雲見日卻仍差一點，Dea一直向Grinpayne保證事情會有轉機，但Grinpayne沒那個自信也充滿了不安。

Grinpayne:

What if this monster they’re crowding to see is all that I am and all I’ll ever be?

Dea:

Something’s going to change.

Grinpayne:

Dea, you love someone you can’t even see. Please, help me find the monster who did this to me.

< Louis說Grinpayne和Dea的關係其實有點諷刺。Grinpayne生理上是看得見的，但心理上全依靠失明的Dea，如果不是Dea一直為他指路，照亮他心中的黑暗激勵他去發掘真相，Grinpayne只會把自己困死。

Grinpayne:

Whose is the mask I’m wearing? (Labyrinth的旋律首次出現)

Dea:

Grinpayne, listen to me. Yes, you did keep one promise. You kept me alive.

Grinpayne:

Whose is the past I’m carrying?

兩人唱著唱著走上D排小舞台。

Dea:

I promise to help you. You’ve always helped me.

Grinpayne再次喝下Crimson Leath (每次關鍵場景都會有個刺耳的短笛音效滑過)。

場景在Josiana一陣大呼小叫後來到她房間，她要求推著早餐進門的小丑跳一段舞娛樂她，要情色的才行(A breakfast dance. An erotic one)，她上前到舞台緣側請樂團指揮兼琴手 — Hans — 下音樂伴奏(樂團叫Hans &The Bleeding Cheek，Hans也是換過幾人XD)

於是… Barkilphedro站到舞台中間背對觀眾，撩起開衩的大衣下襬開始扭腰擺臀，在公主的指揮下放慢扭屁股的動作，然後躺到地上蠕動，公主還掏出馬鞭叫他更煽情一點，小丑便撈起帽子尾巴擺盪著的那顆球試圖舔它，最後公主下了個意義不明的指示要他舔自己的膝蓋，Barkilphedro抬起腿但舔不到在那裡前後晃蕩著讓公主喊停：

STOP! It’s like watching a cockroach having a wank.

Josiana失望的抱怨自己很久沒感受到靈魂的悸動了，簡直跟新上任的女王一樣麻木無情(Unfeeling)，小丑就諂媚她，說如果是Josiana繼任一切會很不一樣(部分事實就是)。Josiana說如果她是女王的話，她會幫助大家實踐心底深處的渴望，小丑的也不例外，命令Barkilphedro說出他渴求何物。

Barkilphedro故作靦腆的說小時候跟媽媽去Trafalgar Fair時，有個老吉普賽女人預言他將會有美好的未來(greatness coming)，說他將會被封爵，他再次搬出20年前King Clarence的諾言，說他耐心地等了很久。還沒講完就被Josiana打斷，她說這是她唯一無法達成的，因為她不是女王，所以小丑沒有一丁點機會一圓得到爵位的夢想。Josiana繼續哀號這世上一定有誰能夠一掃她的不快，顛覆她的世界(Oh, there must be someone out there who can burn away this cold web and spin my world around)。

鋼琴輕快的前奏響起，王子衝了進來。

David: Sister!

Josiana: Brother!

公主幾度打斷王子講話去親他臉頰，王子也是深情款款的盯著她，然後就撲上去了，兩人七手八腳的滾上床(字面意義的「滾」上床)。

還沒進入正題Angelica走了進來高舉雙手喊停。

Angelica: Clown. (Barkilphedro轉頭看著女王)

Don’t look at me. (Barkilphedro一秒撇開)

Clown. (Barkilphedro又轉回來)

DON’T LOOK AT ME! (Barkilphedro躲到公主床旁邊面壁)

整完小丑就轉頭質問兄妹倆這是在做愛嗎？然後指責有血緣關係的手足不該發生關係(Siblings, even half-blood should not be physically entwined)。

Josiana : But it’s an ancient royal tradition!!!

婊XD 女王接著命令Josiana找個沒有血緣關係的人結婚，然後禁止David往Trafalgar Fair跑，否則她要取消他的爵位收回他的寶劍，最後不小心講錯話說很高興父王死了就落跑了。Josiana對著女王溜下台的方向碎碎念個不停，女王則從舞台下吼回去”Stop shagging your brother!!!”。

< 皇室三姊弟的喜感真的很鬧www

David:

Not quite, Jojo (Josiana的簡稱). You must come with me to the fair!

I have seen the most incredible act; a horribly, horribly disfigured man.

然後Grinpayne的頭號粉絲就開始推坑了

David:

I have never seen a face like this.

Josiana, it’s a thing you mustn’t miss

A creature carved from burning hell

With heaven in his eyes

The ugliest, most brutal and most delicate surprise

Josiana:

I love it when you jump about like this

Where is this thing that gives you such bliss

I’d like to come and see it

But to tell the truth I’m torn

To see you jumping up and down is giving me the horn

David:

Not right now

First, you must come with me and see what I found

Josiana:

Alright, tell me!

David:

In the first bit there’s a puppet of a child

Josiana:

Fuck off!

< 不曉得多少人一開始聽到木偶劇的反應是這樣？ =  v  =”

這邊王子第一次唱了加入邪教的標準流程看見Grinpayne真面目的感觸：

At first, it makes you shudder with the shock

Then every pain you’ve ever felt starts screaming in the pit of your soul

It flies into the air through your month, your eyes and your hands

And then you forget who you are entirely

And you are utterly lost

And then with sudden clarity you’re him and he is you

And then you see that all the people around you feel that too

And then almighty laughter splits the silence like a knife

A shout of triumph from the heart the pure laughter of life

David:

A cherub with a really rather ghastly holly grin

As if he’s teeth are razor sharp and bursting through the skin

He’ll reach into the heart of you and pull your soul right through ya

That’s why I’m jumping up and down

And singing hallelujah

Josiana:

You’re my treasure　Beautiful pleasure

David & Josiana:

In all my days

I have never smiled like I smile today

< 從頭到尾蹦蹦跳跳的浮誇姐弟莫名治癒

場景回到Ursus的拖車，睡在D排小舞台的Grinpayne和Dea走回主舞台上，Ursus問他們跑去哪，演出都開始了，Dea驚訝的問怎麼沒等他們就開演了，Ursus掂掂手中那一大袋錢說他們賺了很多所以他僱用了專業的操偶師(煩)。

Grinpayne來到Ursus身側開口問到底是誰害了他，割了他的臉，Ursus再次重申他不曉得，問他怎麼突然又開始追究了？輕拍他的肩膀哄他說不要再想了，他們馬上就要有錢離開這傷心地了，要他忘了過去開始新生活。

Ursus:

The past is passed. You cannot change that. You have to forget it and move on.

Dea:

What if that isn’t true, father?

Dea反駁爸爸，說這些年來是過去的苦痛給了他們活下去的力量：

Before we set sail over crashing cold seas

Chasing stars till we find a new home

One shadowy truth still needs bringing to light

The past that your son’s never known

< Born Broken這首算是個轉折點，Ursus再也無法阻止兩個孩子選他們想走的路，也無法像小時後屢屢描繪美好的未來來保護兩人。

Grinpayne & Dea:

Our past cannot be lost father

Left bury in the snow

We need to see the truth father

So tell us what you know

Ursus:

But we’re close to the future we’ve dreamed of

Grinpayne & Dea:

Look at your shattered children

Tempered like steel

By the storm and the wild

Dear father, please father

Look at the smile of your motherless child

< 最後一句Ursus的歌詞也在停在”Motherless child”，三人的合聲張力十足

Ursus: Now, take your medicine and get out there.

Grinpayne: No! Not today.

Today I will show them the pain of my not knowing.

< 不忍說有一場，原因不明但Louis整齣都用比較高的聲線講話，Grinpayne聽起來年輕了幾歲，和爸爸吵架聽起來超中二的(汗)

到這邊，市集中的The Grinning Man也終於來到了重頭戲，Osric指著觀眾席後方大喊：皇室來了！
轉頭一看，左後方王子領著公主走到D排大聲宣布 ”Excuse us, royalty coming through.”，觀眾認真得站起來讓他們過。XD
有遇過觀眾整個一頭霧水在狀況外，王子還踹了下椅子說請他 “Move your arse, please.”。XDD
邊走還邊打量面前的觀眾們對Josiana發出評價 ”This is really a freak show, isn’t it?” (靠)
最後兩人翻進D排小舞台，坐在台上欣賞演出。
David:
God! Here he comes, Jojo! Get ready to shit kittens!

Grinpayne:
I’m the stuff of your nightmares
Was I born of unspeakable monsters?
I’m the shadow who walks in the night
And I strip all the stars from the sky
Who am I?

I am the source of your fears
I’m the whispering doubt in your ears
I’m the smile cut into the moon
I’m the single black note in the tune

Wipe the tears you cry
Your pity I despise
I am the freak show
Watch me smile

< 除了Louis的唱功要揪住觀眾的心外，I am the freak show這首也挑戰他的柔軟度和眉毛(?)

戴著兩層面具(第一層是傷口，第二層是繃帶)遮住一半的臉來演出，要讓觀眾感受到Grinpayne的情緒，可以給眉毛頒個最佳演員獎(滾)，BTW Louis說他有參考Tom Hardy在Dunkirk的演出。這首還有個讓大家驚豔的邊唱邊下腰hold完長音後再拉回來站好… 沒練過不要亂來(?)

Grinpayne:

Take a knife to your heart

Find the place where your agony start

Bring it quivering into the light

And hurl it out into the night

Wipe the tears you cry

Your pity I despise

I am the freak show

Watch me smile

第二段唱到”I am the freak show”捶胸頓足好用力，一直重複著”Watch me smile”將現場氣氛推到高點，大家屏息等他摘下面具，第一次看到繃帶底下的樣子真的蠻驚人的。

Fuuuuuck Me! < 公主的第一反應讓靜默的觀眾笑出來

It’s even better than the last time. < 對王子此話心有戚戚焉(?)

It cannot be. It cannot beeee!!! < Barkilphedro則是看到鬼般衝向舞台深處撞破窗戶而逃

David: At first, you shudder with the shock. You’re shivering with cold.

王子重述他跟公主解釋過的感受，群眾們也一一加入合唱表示他們有同感。

< 節目單中名為”Roll up!”的這段大合唱沒有收錄在CD (Whyyyyyy? T n T)，但有用在預告片中。主旋律背後有個ooo-eee-ooo-eee-(字幕場認真是這麼打)的副旋律，之後每次出現就代表又有人接受了Grinpayne那無法解釋的洗禮(謎)

Everyone who sees him is amazed by the crimson beauty of his face

就是大家一起推票的一段(誤又無誤)

Come and get your ticket for the biggest hit in town

Soon you won’t remember how you live without this clown

回到拖車內之後，Grinpayne更是鐵了要一探過去的心，甚至以一種偶爾會小破碎的腔調對Ursus說出”Sorry, father, but I don’t believe you”，沒有回頭路了。Ursus難堪的離開拖車，一出去就被Barkilphedro綁走。 

Ursus離去後，有人無視Dea的拒絕在拖車門上敲個不停，直到Grinpayne起身收下一封信。Grinpayne在舞台前拆信的時候Dea獨自坐上拖車，舞臺旋轉出另一面坐著的Josiana，她唱出信的內容，說Grinpayne重啟了她的世界，重燃了各種感官：

I heard nothing till I heard your tale today

But the music of your story has opened my eyes

We’re going to build a brand new world of feeling

Grinpayne對Josiana的告白很好奇，不曉得她到底從自己身上看見了什麼，不知道他能不能從她身上找回過去。

Josiana:

I wasn’t living till you gave me life today

Come find me at the riverbank

I’m sighing at the riverbank

I’m crying at the riverbank

I’m dying at the riverbank

Waiting for a brand new world of feeling

舞台上Grinpayne單膝跪在前方讀信，而Josiana站在他身後唱著拍點強烈的旋律邀約他在Loowater Bridge碰面，最後Grinpayne在Dea的鼓勵下決定赴約。

然後一路上被痴漢們纏著不放(欸)

Ensemble:

I’ve been smiled at

You’ve been smile at

One small smile can change your world

A scar is born!/邪教的誕生這段個人覺得很可愛(到底有哪一段不這麼覺得？毆)，一路上只要Grinpayne往左，群眾們就跟著往左，往右就跟著往右，成群的跟蹤狂的概念(誤)，走在前頭的Grinpayne一轉身便發現後面一堆痴笑的可疑份子粉絲。

Osric:

I’ve got a funny feeling in my hand (Osric抓住Grinpayne的手結果被人家甩掉 XD)

It’s feeling kind of free or like my brain has been trepanned

I used to think that Grinning Man was talented, but odd

But now it seems to me that he’s the only son of God

Grinpayne看著眾人的目光看起來很驚恐，隨著歌曲越來越熱鬧，最後群眾們把Grinpayne捧上天。

Grinpayne:

Is this the truth? Is this the truth now?

Ensemble:

If you haven’t seen him you will never understand

Hallelujah! Praise the Grinning Man!!!
